Doretha O. Zimmer

Doretha O. Zimmer 96 of St. Clair, MI died on January 4, 2009. She was born in Forest, IN, the daughter of Edward and Bellezora Smelser. Doretha was an active community person. She had five Beauty Salons in the downriver communities of River Rouge, Wyandotte, Trenton, Lincoln Park and Southwest Detroit. She also managed Virginia Farrell Career Beauty School in Lincoln Park. She owned and managed several apartment buildings. She had the honor of being one of the first women to be President of the Chamber of Commerce in Lincoln Park, serving two terms. She retired from her last remaining salon in Lincoln Park after 45 years in the same location. In her last years she resided at her home in St. Clair, MI.

Services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 07, 2009 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Wednesday. Mrs. Zimmer will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery in Forest, IN.

Linda L. Beals

Linda L. Beals 67, of Rossville, IN, died on December 30, 2008 at 6:35 pm, in Milner Health Care Center, Rossville, IN. She was born on October 18, 1941 in Frankfort, IN. She married Donald J. Oberhoulser in March of 1960 and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1972. She then married David Beals on June 15, 1974 and he survives. Linda was a 1959 graduate of Frankfort High School. She then went on to help manage the Frankfort Bakery for 12 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for the community schools of Frankfort for 10 years and then worked at Frito Lay over 20 years in payroll administration, retiring in October 2007. Linda enjoyed baking cakes, photography and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 03, 2009 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, IN with Pastor Steven T. Lee & Asst. Pastor Tobin Oberhoulser of Greater Lighthouse Apostolic Church of Lafayette will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Beals will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Mausoleum in Frankfort, IN. Memorials may be made to: Clinton County Cancer Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Phil E. Cougill

Phil E. Cougill 79 of Frankfort, IN, died on December 24, 2008 at 9:45 am, in Wesley Manor Health Care Center. He was born on July 31, 1929 in Frankfort, IN, the son of Wilbur and Gretchen (Piner) Cougill. He married Alice (Milne) Cougill on October 7, 1951 at the First Presbyterian Church, Frankfort, IN and she preceded him in death on April 5, 2007. Mr. Cougill was a 1947 graduate of Frankfort High School and attended Indiana State University. He worked for the U.S. Post Office as a rural mail carrier from 1954-1989. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard, for 3 years and was stationed in San Diego. His memberships include; First Presbyterian Church, American Legion and a former member of Elks. He enjoyed golfing, was an avid hunter and a fan of Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Services will be at 11:00 am Monday, December 29, 2008 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, IN, with Tom Jameson officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Cougill will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Frankfort, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Paw Pals of Clinton County, 825 Isaac Walton Dr., Frankfort, IN 46041, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Elsie Amanda Goldsberry

Elsie Amanda Goldsberry 79, of Mulberry, IN died on December 21, 2008 at 3:07 pm, in Home Hospital, Lafayette, IN. She was born on May 26, 1929 in Boone County the daughter of Berna and Carrie (Hefley) Patchett. She married Glenn Foree Goldsberry in Boone County on November 2, 1956 and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1991. Mrs. Goldsberry was a 1947 graduate of Michigantown High School and a 1954 graduate of Home Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse, she worked at the Clinton County Hospital for 40 years in obstetrics. She enjoyed gardening, cookbooks & cooking, her grandchildren, her dog Sassy & sports, including; I.U., Cubs, Bears, Miami Dolphins & Clinton Prairie softball.

Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, IN with Jim Eldridge officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital Obstetrics Unit with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Judy Ann King

Judy Ann King 60 of Frankfort, IN died on December 20, 2008 at 5:22 pm, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on December 5, 1948, in Clinton County, IN, the daughter of Leora G. Pitzer and Maxine L. (Obermiller) Pitzer. She married Rick L. King on February 14, 1976 in Frankfort and he survives. Mrs. King was a housewife and lifelong resident of Clinton County. She attended Frankfort Senior High School. Mrs. King enjoyed spending time with grandkids and family. She enjoyed buying and selling real-estate, gardening and cooking.

Services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, December 26, 2008 at Goodwin Funeral Home, Frankfort, IN. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. King will be laid to rest at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, IN. Memorials may be made to: Clinton County Cancer Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
